Dara Puspita Will Put You in the Mood for Summer

Dara Puspita (Flower Girls) has been called the best girl band of all time. Hailing from Indonesia in the late 1960s, they played solid garage rock with a Beatles/ Beach Boys sound. The ladies played all of the instruments, which was a very big deal in the 60's (and a rarity now). During a time when the Indonesian President labeled Western rock music “a form of mental disease,” the band was interrogated by the government for a month for playing "illegal rock music." These ladies were true rebels. Their music is the perfect soundtrack to let loose, so get a little raucous now.
